Featured Tune: "Accident" by McCloud
reviews
The first track from McCloud’s new album, “Look Behind You”, starts off with an 80s vibe with a harmonious melody of different instruments. Though they are beautifully blended together, you can still make out the drums and electric guitar individually as well.
It immediately starts off with the first verse, where the singer does not want to make long-term plans for the future, indicating that something may be about to change. This change can be related to the band's comeback after almost two decades. It can also hint at how things can suddenly take a different turn in life.
Since it is known that the reason for recording this song was because there was a recording studio only 45 minutes away from their residency, this song can be considered as a change in their long-term plans, as hinted in the song.
The chorus's main verse describes this change as an “accident”, “simple twist in fate”, or “an experimental phase”. This further intensifies the idea about when life takes a sudden, unexpected turn toward something you never imagined.
McCloud has hinted at their dedication towards this phase of their life by saying that even if they are called a liar for this change, they are still not willing to change anything about it.
This song blends various emotions, lyrics, and feelings along with consistent background music, making the listener feel themselves in a trance. They have beautifully combined the low, mid, and high notes of the song with intense rhythms that the listener cannot help but replay over and over again.
